HANAH coconut masala chai

Masala chai tea is the official everyday tea in India, so it’s fitting that HANAH’s flavors blend in just right with this homemade recipe. The addition of coconut milk makes it satisfyingly creamy while the HANAH ONE and added spices support digestion, gut health, and mental clarity.

Ingredients

  • 1 3⁄4 cup water
  • 1⁄2 cup canned coconut milk
  • 3⁄4 inch fresh ginger, grated or minced
  • 2 inch cinnamon stick
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 teaspoons Assam black tea, loose leaf
  • 1 teaspoon HANAH ONE
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon ground cardamom 
  • 3 ground black peppercorns 
  • 2 dashes ground cloves

Directions

  1. Add water to a small pot over medium heat
  2. Add cloves and let simmer for 10 minutes
  3. Remove from heat and add tea then cover and let steep for 5 minutes
  4. Return to a low heat, add coconut milk, and honey using a whisk to combine
  5. Strain through a fine mesh strainer directly into your mug
  6. Add HANAH ONE and stir until blended or add to a blender for froth
  7. For a lighter version, replace half or all of the coconut milk with any other milk
