We partner directly with the kingdom of Bhutan to procure our Cordyceps sinensis from where they grow wild in the mineral rich soil of the Himalayas, at altitudes above 14,000 feet. Bhutan has strict sustainable harvest guidelines in place to protect the environment, the sustainability of the Cordyceps and the collectors. Only skilled local villagers from the Cordyceps growing areas are permitted to collect this special fungus. The harvesting is limited to one month a year, timed at a specific point in the growing cycle to ensure maturity and sustainability, and is overseen by local leaders and forestry services, who also keep an eye out for poachers.
The highlight of this blue dream smoothie bowl isn't its ridiculous good looks, although you may feel an overhelming urge to Instagram this blue beauty. The real focal point is its nutritious and functional whole food ingredients, which are the specialties of this recipe's creator, McCauley Tawpash.
