HANAH's mission is to ensure the continuation of ancient medical wisdom by evolving it into remedies for modern living. Our team is focused on sourcing and harvesting the highest quality natural ingredients from around the world, and manufacturing them in a way that preserves their maximum health benefits and also supports the local communities. By doing this, we deliver products that have noticeable results. That’s our promise.
Joel is the founder of HANAH. While training in Prague for his second Ironman triathlon, he was in a serious bike accident, which led him to discover the ancient practice of Ayurveda. After healing in record time through a combination of Ayurvedic herbs and diet, he went to Kerala, India, and worked alongside Dr. V.A. Venugopal to adapt a wellness recipe for the modern Western world. Thus HANAH was born.

JR is the co-founder of HANAH. He is a serial entrepreneur with a proven track record. As the former CEO of AVG Technologies, he grew the company to $400 million in revenue and took it public on the New York Stock Exchange. More importantly, he is an avid cyclist and member of Etixx Quickstep Pro Cycling Team Board of Directors.
Dr. V.A. Venugopal
Dr. Vengopal’s (Dr. V to us) vision of spreading Ayurveda around the world aligned with Joel’s desire to create an antidote to the physical stressors of modern life. Dr. V worked with Joel for over three years in Kerala, India, to source the highest quality natural ingredients, create a sustainable supply chain and consistently deliver products with noticeable results.
After healing an autoimmune disease using diet and herbs at a young age, Li’el dove head first into the world of healing through diet and nutrition. She sees high-quality superfoods as our greatest medicine and is passionate about helping others discover the magic that a simple change on their spoon can make in their day-to-day lives.
Growing up in India, Meghna is very familiar and accustomed to the Ayurvedic way of life. She believes food is medicine and practices it in her day to day, incorporating nutrient-dense superfoods and trying to lead a holistic life. In her spare time, she teaches Indian cooking that include the healing properties of spices and ghee. She is constantly trying to find ways of combining those practices in her now American life.
Growing up in the south, Byron was exposed to vegetables like ‘ketchup’ and ‘cream of mushrooms’ along with the impression that eating healthy was a Wendy’s baked potato (with extra sour cream). Fast forward to today, and as an avid endurance athlete, he knows the value of food as medicine. He truly is passionate about helping everyone he comes in contact with live their best life.
As a life-long vegetarian and Marin County, California, resident, Wendell has been immersed in natural foods, healthy outdoor exercise and what used to be considered hippy culture for a long time. He is amazed to see how the commitment to long-term, natural health (inside and out) is going global. As a 10+ year digital marketer and entrepreneur, when not totally wrapped up in digital data, Wendell loves mountain biking on Mt. Tamalpais and being with his family.
